Alternative Christmas Trees #2

Alternative Christmas Trees #2

So those who read these blogs will notice we are a wee bit obsessed with doing things differently here at Planetfem. And when it comes to Christmas tree ideas and designs, we shun the traditional and let our imaginations delve into the alternative world with aplomb!

These alternative Christmas tree ideas also happen to be our favourites. See what you think.

First up is the ingenious ladder Christmas tree. Whoever conjured this one up was obviously sick of DIY and thought this a much better, prettier and more practical use of the ladder! The DIY tool is the perfect triangular shape, is sturdy and tall and is obviously designed to fit in corners perfectly! There’s even the perfect ledge to place your angel/star/thingmybob at the top without fighting, cussing and knocking your tree over. All you need to do is wrap your lights, spray and adorn it with your favourite homemade Christmas decorations and there you have it: the ultimate Christmas tree! Also, notice just how much space there is underneath for Father Christmas to leave you all those extra big presents for being such a wonderful environmentally-friendly, ecologically-conscious person! Win-win!

The next idea is something for the intellectuals: the Book Christmas Tree! Feel intelligent and christmassy at the same time! The only reservations we have with this one is faulty light syndrome – so make sure you buy some quality Christmas lights to drape over it and don’t leave them on over night either as we can’t be to blame if your whole book collection goes up in one, taking your pressies with it. Remember, old, dusty books make fantastic fire fodder, so don’t use your first editions! Have fun trying to build the tree Jenga-style without knocking the whole thing down!

Finally, we have one for the wine lovers. Ever wondered what to do with those gorgeous corks? How about make a festive Cork Christmas tree! It’s a no-brainer -corks are made of wood and so are Christmas trees – bet you wish you’d thought of that before us! Again, take a bow for your environmentally-friendly tendencies. Don’t have enough corks? Simple! Crack open some more wine!
