Bachelor Pad Essentials

Just because you live alone, that doesn’t mean your home has to be drab! Here are a few bachelor pad essentials to make your home the perfect “man cave”:

  • Comfortable seating — You can only spend so much time sitting at the dining room or coffee tables. You’ll need a sofa, even a small one, just to have a place to sit and relax comfortably if you bring guests over.
  • Proper bedding — There are few things worse than going to a man’s house and discovering that he doesn’t have proper bedding. This means a bottom sheet, a top sheet, a blanket, and possibly even a duvet cover. If you want to make women feel at home, a set of simple white cotton sheets will do the trick.
  • A desk — We’re not talking a desk that’s used for your home office, but one that serves as a place to sit, read, think, and write. It should be near a window where you have good direct lighting.
  • A library — The more books you have, the more educated and cultured you’ll look. And don’t stock the shelves with only commercial fiction; make sure you get literary fiction and classic novels by Dickens, Bronte, Austen, and others. Hard-copies of books are a wonderful thing in this digital age!
  • An entertainment system — You’ll want to have your own gaming setup, flatscreen TV, and all the other “guy” things. But make sure you have a good sound system, complete with music that will appeal to women as well. It’s all about making it a comfortable place for your lady guests too.
  • A gorgeous bathroom — If you want to impress a woman, make sure your bathroom is elegant and well-furnished. Most women expect simple, plain bathrooms at a guy’s home, so having something fancy will blow her away.
