Attention Kate Bush fans! The legendary singer-songwriter’s former home is up for sale!
Kate moved into the property in 1985 after the success of her hit single ‘Wuthering Heights’, which made her the first woman to have a UK number-one with a self-written song. The song was not only No1 in the UK but in the Australian charts too and it went on to become an international hit, making Kate the icon every romantic, theatrical middle-class teenager had ever dreamed of.
Kate sold the 5333ft2 property family home in 2003, but the present owner has now put it on the market, 11 years later.
The property has six bedrooms, one of which was apparently Kate’s dance studio, and, this one is for the true fans, it could quite possibly also have been where parts of one of her music videos was filmed, or so the rumour goes!
The property has an abundance of fabulousness – dramatic high ceilings, a rather sumptuous orangery, a formal dining room for those very special dinners, oh, and the necessary, walk-in wardrobe for the fashionistas. Kate was well-known for her love of a bit of dressing up, as her imaginative songs and dramatic videos and stage performances clearly show.
There’s a koi pond for those meditative, creative moments, a garden bar in which to wile away the more clement-weathered evenings with friends and even a treehouse for those with the child in their eyes (sorry!). The whole estate backs onto the Royal Blackheath golf course.
All this musical history and class for a mere £2.6million. For the one who can afford it, you’ll be running up that hill to get home every single time! I’ll leave it there, I’m all punned out. Take a look around here.
