Holiday Décor Done Right

Want to decorate your home but don’t have a lot of space to work with? Here are a few tips for simple and easy holiday décor:

Paint a tree — If you really don’t have any space in your home for a Christmas tree, there’s no need to try and fit one in. Instead, find a blank white wall and paint a Christmas tree. It’s an oddly adorable decoration that can be a fun DIY project.

Raise the tree — If you must have a tree, buy a smaller one and place it on a table or chair. This way, the tree won’t take up as much space, but it will still look big.

Fill your home with the scent of Christmas — The way your home smells is almost more important than the way it looks. Scents trigger sense memories more strongly than sights, so the traditional “Christmas smells” will bring back those happy memories more than seeing a Christmas tree. Cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and baking cookies are just a few of the smells that will make your home feel like Christmas once again.

Go for Christmas themes — You have your classic year-long décor, but now it’s time to switch things out and decorate your house in the Christmas style. Use Christmas colors (red, white, and green), or use holiday-themed decorations (snowmen, elves, Santas, Christmas carols, etc.) to put your home in the Christmas mood.

Decorate your windows — If you don’t have a lot of wall real estate for decorations, don’t sweat it! Hang wreaths and tinsel on your windows! It won’t affect your natural lighting, but it will make your Christmas decorations look brighter and cheerier!

It’s easy to spruce up your holiday décor, no matter how limited your space!
