How to Keep Your Pantry Organized Part 4

Worried it’s too hard to keep your pantry organized? Don’t worry! We’ve got some quick and easy tips to make your life easier:

  • Use hanging shoe racks on the pantry door — If you have a lot of small items to store, a plastic/vinyl shoe rack hung on the pantry door will provide you the perfect space for those items. It’s like bonus storage space, as the items in the shoe rack won’t take up any room on the shelves.
  • Hang pots and pans –– Instead of storing all of your pots and pans in the pantry, why not hang them in the kitchen? It will give your kitchen a rustic look, and will free up A LOT of space in the pantry–or in the cabinets.
  • Put less-used items on the top shelves — We all have items that we rarely use, but we can’t really get rid of. Those are the items that belong on the top pantry shelves, out of reach, but still accessible when necessary. All of the more commonly used items belong on the middle shelves, with the heavier and larger items on the bottom shelves.
  • Try to minimize small items –– When shopping, try to limit the number of small items you purchase. You don’t have to buy in bulk, but at least buy enough that you have for storage. It’s much easier to keep your pantry organized when it’s not filled with tiny packages and half-empty bags. Buy a couple of pounds of rice, flour, beans, or popcorn at a time, and keep what you don’t use in storage containers. You’ll know when it’s time to buy more!

Follow these tips, and you’ll keep your pantry organized and clean like a kitchen rockstar!
