Want to decorate your home for Christmas but don’t have a lot of money to spend? Here are a few simple holiday DIY décor projects to try:
Paper Snowflakes — The fun of paper snowflakes is that, like real snowflakes, no two are ever alike. The more creative you are with your scissors, the more unique each snowflake will be. You can cut up dozens of paper snowflakes and use them all around your house. Hang them from your Christmas tree, make a snowflake mobile, or tape them to the windows to make your home look more festive.
Winter Jar Centerpieces — All you’ll need for this DIY project is a few glass mason jars and some creativity! Fill the jars with water–either colored or clear–and drop a few holiday ingredients into each jar: cinnamon sticks, holly sprigs, cranberries, tree bark, Christmas candles, and the list goes on. You can even add pine sticks and winter branches into the jars. Place these jars all around the house to add a touch of color and life.
Mini Tree — You can have more than just one huge Christmas tree in your living room, but you can make your own paper Christmas trees to put around the house. Roll pieces of paper into cones, trim the edges to make them even, and decorate the outside of the paper cone with beads, pine cones, colored paper, ribbons, shells, glitter, or anything you want. Make the trees as simple or fancy as you want, just make them festive!
Wreaths — Instead of spending a fortune on wreaths at your local supermarkets, why not make your own? You’ll need a few loops of durable wire, some pine branches, and something to add color and texture to the wreath. It’s a quick and easy project for all!
