Tesco’s Living Home & Garden section in their superstores has always been good for last minute holiday or impromptu barbecue buys. The Tesco Living Home and Garden Spring/Summer 2015 collection has stepped up the the ‘economy class’ of Lidl and Primark, reiterating that, when it comes to homeware, it IS possible to keep prices low and elegance high.
Tesco promises that whatever your style, space or budget, it will spoil you for choice and ideas with this collection, and they are not wrong.
The collection has four distinct, on point, trends: Modern Romance, New West, Mid Century and Oceanic. Two of my particular favourites are:
According to their press release, “Pastels are here to stay for spring ’15 but this season’s palette is bolder and more impactful for a refreshed romantic vibe with an edge. Photographic prints and chalky tones have been teamed with flashes of black to capture the very essence of this picture perfect look.”
Materials which heavily feature throughout this trend include two-tone velvet, linear lace and pearlescent fabrics. Very Jayne Eyre. Prints include romantic florals and vintage ‘sepia’ florals.
Tesco says, “Inject a hint of the Wild West into your home this summer. With layers of desert hues and rugged textures, this season’s ranch chic is easy living at it’s most stylish. Twinned with burnished leathers, cool cottons and patchwork prints, this is a look that is sure to be well loved and lived-in.”
Think textured cottons, woven abstract prints, think burnt velvet meadow flowers and geometric prints.
One to note: the grey and sulphur yellow Marseille metal dining chairs and white with grey etched tableware and the geometric cushions for only £8 as above – bargain!
